B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad kerala

The discipline of Mechanical Engg. offers a 4-year undergraduate B.Tech. Program in addition to a 2-year Masters’ program and research (MS and PhD) programs. The stream currently has around 120 B.Tech students (across four years) along with about 20 M.Tech students (currently in their first year) and about 20 M.S. and Ph.D. scholars.

The B.Tech program gives the students a holistic overview of the stream with emphasis on both fundamentals and applications. The students are encouraged to work on interdisiplinary projects and have a fairly flexible curriculum that allows them to choose electives even from other disciplines to hone their abilities. Internships, both in academia and industry, are encouraged and facilitated so that the students get an exposure to research. A few selected students also have the option of carrying our part of their final-year project at Auckland University of Technology and there are opportunities to conduct industry-oriented projects
