NEET PG 2024 Hearing : SC refuses to entertain petition, exam to be held August 11 as scheduled
NEET PG 2024 Hearing Live: The Supreme Court has refused to entertain the petition for postponement of the exam.
On Friday, the Supreme Court refused to entertain the petition to postpone the NEET PG exam. The matter was heard by a bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra. The examination will be held as per schedule. In two shifts, NBEMS will conduct the NEET PG 2024 examination on August 11, 2024. More than 2.28 lakh candidates will appear for the examination.
The apex court had earlier decided to hear the postponement plea after advocate Anas Tanwir mentioned the petition before Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Thursday seeking an urgent hearing.
The petitioners mentioned that candidates appearing for the NEET PG 2024 examination need help reaching the exam centres with so little time. The allocated cities list was released on July 31, and the specific test centre venue and admit card were out on August 8.
In addition, the petitioners also asked candidates to be informed of the normalization formula of the four sets of question papers to prevent any possibility of arbitrariness in the process.
