NEET PG Revised Schedule Released Check List Of Important Dates
The NEET-PG 2025 exam will now be held on August 3 in a single shift, as per the revised schedule released by NBEMS following a Supreme Court.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially released the revised schedule for NEET-PG 2025, confirming that the entrance exam will now be held on August 3, 2025, in a single-shift format. The decision follows a directive from the Supreme Court of India, which mandated the change to ensure transparency and fairness in the high-stakes medical entrance exam.
Why was NEET-PG 2025 postponed?
Originally scheduled for June 15, 2025, the NEET-PG examination was postponed by the Supreme Court after it rejected NBEMS’s plan to conduct the test in two shifts. The apex court termed the two-shift proposal as "arbitrary" and underlined that question papers across different shifts could never be of equal difficulty, thus potentially disadvantaging some candidates. A bench led by Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and Augustine George Masih directed the NBEMS to ensure a level playing field by holding the exam in a single shift. Although the NBEMS highlighted issues such as the need for 900 more test centers, reliable Wi-Fi, and robust computer security, the court stood its ground, stating that a technologically advanced country like India should be able to address these challenges.
