The full form of MD medicine is Doctor of Medicine, which is a two-year postgraduate specialised course that can be pursued after completing MBBS. MD medicine is an advanced degree that can be obtained after completing MBBS. MD Medicine is a specialist degree for doctors and is usually given upon successful graduation from medical school. MD medicine is among the main degrees required to practice medicine. It is also recognized as the requirement to be licensed as a medical physician.
To get admission to the MD Medicine, aspirants must have passed their MBBS at an institution that the ICMR has approved to study Medicine. Candidates should also have completed the one-year mandatory internship. Doctor of Medicine admissions are decided based on the scores of the entrance exams. Candidates who desire to enrol in an MD program must pass any of the entrance exams, such as NEET, PG and INICET. Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Dentistry, Gynecology, and Ophthalmology are just a few specialities of MD medicine.

The NEET's PG 2024 test date has been moved to June 23, ’24.
INI CET 2024 (July session) registrations are open, and the last date to apply is April 12, 2024. The INI CET 2024 exam for the July session will be held on May 19, 2024.

Fees Structure
MD fees vary depending on various factors; one of the most important factors is the college or university students attend. Before enrolling in any particular college, students need to check the MD or Doctor of Medicine fee structure. Doctor of Medicine or MD fee ranges between Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 600,000.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to pursue MD, aspirants must fulfill the MD eligibility criteria set by the authority. The MD eligibility criteria include some steps, such as educational qualifications, registration, and internship requirements. It should be noted that aspirants seeking admission through NEET PG must fulfill the eligibility criteria by qualifying for the NEET Cut Off. On the other hand, those who seek admission through INI CET or any other institutes where NEET PG scores are not applicable can also check the eligibility below.

- Candidates must have passed their MBBS from an accredited institution.
- Candidates ought to have received at least 50% on the MBBS.

Merit Based Entrance
- Candidates need to apply at the official portal of the college they want to pursue.
- Next, they need to make an application ID, fill out the application form by inserting the details accordingly.
- Candidates have to wait till the merit list of the college is issued on a specific date. If candidates’ names are on the list, they need to report at the college campus.
- This will follow the counselling phase; after that seat, allotment will be done accordingly.
Entrance Based Admission
- For entrance-based admission, candidates need to go to the official website of the college they want to pursue and see what entrance exams are accepted by that college for the MD course.
- Based on that, candidates need to apply at the official website of the governing body of that exam and sit for it.
- Candidates who qualify for the exam can apply at the college's official website.
- Make an application ID and complete the application form by completing the necessary details and uploading their entrance exam scores.
- A merit list will be issued on a specific date, and if candidates get their names on the list, they might have to go for the interview round or group discussion, which will decide their final selection.
