The Department of Mathematics was established in 1963 at a temporary campus in Pilani from where it was shifted to Jaipur in 1964. The Department was one of the two Departments which were established along with the establishment of the college in Jaipur. Prof. Late C.B Rathi was the founder Head of this Department. Late Prof R. K. Gupta, Prof K. C. Gupta, Prof Y. N. Gaur, Prof C. L. Koul and Prof Kantesh Gupta whose brilliant work and intuitions pushed things in huge leaps and bounds. Their thoughts continue to echo through the ages today.
The faculty members of the Department is teaching mathematics to about 1500 undergraduate and post graduate students. The members of the Department have published more than 150 research papers in national and international journals/conferences
