The course in microbiology provides an understanding of the scientific basis for pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious and immunologically-mediated human diseases. Briefly the syllabus encompasses basic and clinical aspects of Bacteriology, Virology, Parasitology, Mycology and Immunology. The one year course is offered to the 4th year MBBS students which comprises total 190 hours of teaching-learning experience. Different modules of the course are presented by means of 100 hours lectures, 45 hours tutorials and 45 hours practical sessions all through the year.
