The College of Arts and Sciences opened as Liberal Arts Department of the Iloilo Doctors’ College during the school year 1975-76 with the approval of the permit to offer A.B. Courses. As a consequence, the IDH School of Nursing and Midwifery acquired College status and became formally known as the Iloilo Doctors’ College.

Courses offered in the College of Arts and Sciences were BS in Biological Science and Pre-Dentistry. In 1977-1981, other new courses in the College of Arts and Sciences were BS in Social Work, BS in Tourism and Radiologic Technology. The two-year course Medical Secretarial was also offered In College of Arts and Sciences. The BS in Social Work and BS in Tourism courses were subsequently phased out, however.

In the school year 1991-1992 the two-year Computer Secretarial course was opened in the College of Arts and Sciences.

With the opening of the College of Paramedicine during school year 1994-1995, the course in Radiologic
