CAT 2024: Exam Dates, Registrations, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus

The CAT 2024 exam will be conducted in three sessions on November 24, 2024. The official announcement of the CAT exam date 2024 will be made in July 2024 at the iimcat.ac.in the website. The application procedure for CAT 2024 will begin in the first week of August 2024. The exam will be conducted in over 150 cities across India. This year, the CAT exam is expected to be conducted by IIM Calcutta. The official announcement of the CAT convening institute will be made sometime in May 2024.

What is CAT Exam?

Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national management aptitude test that is conducted by the IIM to be able to enter the MBA programs that are offered at its 21 campuses and more than 1,200 B-schools throughout India. NITIE Mumbai has been added to the cluster, which is now IIM Mumbai. There are more than 2 lakh candidates who are enrolled in the CAT exam each year. In CAT 2023, the registration set a new record with 3.30 lakh applications.

CAT exam is conducted on a single dayin three sessions in approximately 400 test centers in 150 cities across India. Anyone who plans to pursue an MBA in the academic year 2024 must take the CAT exam in 2024 since the score is recognized by the majority of government and private MBA schools in India.

The CAT exam is a test of business aptitude and the syllabus includes these topics - Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA). The difficulty level of the test is from moderate to advanced.

CAT Eligibility Criteria 2024

• Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with minimum 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45 percent aggregate for SC, ST and PWD/DA category) from a recognised university to appear in CAT 2024.
• The educational mode of the bachelor's degree could be distance or regular learning, but it must be a three-year course.
• candidates who've earned a professional qualification (CA/CS/ICWA/FCAI) having the minimum percentage are able to take part in CAT.
• Candidates who are enrolled in an exam in the last year of bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification or who are awaiting the results are also eligible for the the CAT 2024 exam.
