What is the process of JEE mains Counselling?
JEE Main Counselling is conducted through two major processes- JoSAA and CSAB. First, JoSAA Counselling is conducted by offering admission to 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 29 Other GFTIs. Once JoSAA Counselling concludes, CSAB conducts different rounds of counselling for admission to the vacant seats after JoSAA and the other specific seats under CSAB NEUT, SFTI, etc.
- JoSAA Counselling: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority conducts JoSAA Counselling for admission to 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 29 Other GFTIs. The counselling is conducted as a combined process for JEE Main and Advanced qualified candidates.
- JoSAA is conducted in six rounds. However, in case of any vacant seats, two CSAB special rounds are conducted to fill the vacant seats available.
- After each round of JoSAA Counselling, a category-wise opening and closing rank is released, which is the admission cut-off for JEE Main; the opening rank is the lowest eligible rank to secure admission, while the closing rank is the highest in IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIEST, or GFTIs.
- CSAB NEUT Counselling: Central Seat Allocation Board for North Eastern States & Union Territories or CSAB NEUT is conducted for engineering/ technology/ architecture admissions to candidates belonging to 8 North East States and 4 Union Territories.

For the academic session 2021-22, CSAB SFTI had been canceled due to minimum participation from SFTIs. Any updates for this year will be updated here after the official announcement.
