How many times can I give the JEE Mains?
The JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 conducts for Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.) admission at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Colleges/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. JEE (Main) is also an eligibility exam for JEE (Advanced), conducted for admission to IITs—paper 2 conducts admission to the country's B. Arch and B. Planning courses.
The JEE (Main) 2023 will conduct two sessions to get admissions in the next academic session. The students will thus benefit in the following ways:
- This will give two chances to the candidates to improve their marks in the examination if they cannot give their best in one attempt.
- On the first attempt, the candidates will get a direct experience of taking an examination and will know their errors which they can improve while attempting the second time exam.
- This will decrease the opportunities of dropping a year, and droppers would not have to waste a whole year.
- If anyone forgets the examination due to reasons beyond control (such as the Board examination), he/she will not have to wait for one year.
- A student is required to avoid appearing in both Sessions. However, if a prospect appears in more than one session, his/her best of the JEE (Main) 2023 NTA Marks will be considered in preparing the Merit List/ Ranking.
