The Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, will end the round 1 counselling registration today. Students who still need to register on the portal are advised to do so today before 11:59 p.m. at medical2024.mahacet.org.
According to the NEET PG schedule, the last date for paying the registration and security fees is October 3, and the fee is Rs 3000. Students should also remember that without any constitutional reservation, the security fee for government colleges is Rs 25,000, while for private medical colleges in the state, it is Rs 1 lakh.
Medical aspirants with reservations will have to deposit Rs 12,500 for government colleges and Rs 1 lakh for private colleges. NEET PG is conducted for admissions in courses after MBBS and BDS. The NBE announced the results on August 23.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will now hear the plea related to NEET PG, likely on October 4. A group of NEET PG aspirants has filed a plea challenging the exam’s pattern set by the National Board of Education for Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
The plea, filed by Ishika Jain and others, seeks the disclosure of answer keys, question papers of NEET PG 2024, and standardisation of marks as the test was split into two parts for ensuring transparency in the selection process.
Senior Advocate Vibha Datta Makhija and Advocate Tanvi Dubey, who are representing the NEET PG aspirants, claimed that NBEMS made last-minute changes to the exam pattern.
After the results were declared this year, petitioners claimed that students had concerns about unexpectedly low rankings. This year, the exam was conducted in two shifts instead of the single-shift format. With the new system in place, NBE adopted the normalisation process.
