B Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering Eligibility Criteria

The basic B Tech ECE eligibility criteria for a B Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering are mentioned below:

  • Candidates must complete 10+2 with 50 per cent aggregate marks from a recognised board.

  • Only the candidates who have completed a Diploma in ECE/ CSE (Computer Science Engineering)/ EE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering)/ ETM (Electronics & Telematics Engineering)/ IT (Information Technology) can take lateral entry admission to B.Tech ECE.
  • The candidate must have passed a Diploma in Engineering with a minimum aggregate of 50%-60%.

BTech ECE Entrance Exams 2024

Admission to the BTech ECE course is based mainly on national-level and state-level entrance exams conducted by various bodies to assess candidates' knowledge. Based on the BTech ECE entrance exam, students are granted admission to engineering colleges. JEE Main and JEE Advanced are popular national-level entrance exams for BTech ECE admission.

JEE Main

The National Testing Agency administers JEE Main for students wishing to study engineering at premier engineering colleges in India, such as IITs and NITs. 

JEE Advanced

BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering Admission Process

The B Tech ECE course has varied entry requirements depending on the university. Some B Tech ECE colleges accept students based on their entrance exam performance and 10+2 results. Admission to other B Tech ECE colleges/ universities is made based on the results of the entrance tests and not on the 10+2 marks.
