PRINCIPLES OF STATISTICS

This course is designed to acquaint students with statistical methods used in collecting, presenting and analyzing data. The course includes: statistical concepts in modern society; descriptive statistics and graphical displays of data; the normal distribution; data collection (sampling and designing experiments); probability distributions; sampling theory; elements of statistical inference; estimation and hypothesis testing; linear regression and correlation; and contingency tables.
