Digital audio and video are overgrowing within the Indian media industry, and there is a vast need for original content. This requires specific production skills which are highly sought after. The degree program provides students with the technical expertise to produce audio and video content in digital format. Students are taught the latest tools and technologies to create, distribute, and market media properties across the digital media industry.

Students are educated as digital broadcasting storytellers and producers. They get hands-on training in the areas of mobile Journalism as well as Audio/Video Production podcasting, Content Production Direction, Production, and live broadcasting. School of Modern Media students at UPES are employed at one of the top studios in the nation, where they are taught the techniques needed for mass media and digital broadcasting, which top experts teach in the field.

Digital Studio Management & Live Production is an essential part of the digital media industry. This course will train students to create in-studio video content and live productions floor management, broadcasting, and floor management. The course will teach students to utilize cutting-edge technology and equipment to create and manage live media-related content for companies and startups. This includes videography in studios mix, vision live images, camera operations direction, and general production.

The new curriculum framework of UPES, ABLE (Academic Blueprint for Learning Excellence), is comprehensive in its overall structure. However, it is focused on the student's specific needs to explore the world, experiment, and be challenged. Learning is divided into core subject areas, core specialism studies minors/exploratory subjects, and life skills and signature learning.
