Digital video & audio are growing exponentially in the Indian media sector, and there is a huge demand for original content. This requires specialised production skills which are in high demand. This degree program equips students with good technical skills to create digital video and audio content. Students are trained on the latest technology tools to produce, distribute and monetise media properties across digital multimedia industries.

Students are trained as digital broadcasting storytellers & producers. They are provided hands-on experience in Mobile Journalism, Audio/Video Production, Content Creation, Podcasting, Production, Direction and Live Broadcasting. School of Modern Media students at UPES work in one of the most advanced studios in the country. They learn the skills required for digital and mass media broadcasting, which the best professionals in the industry teach.

The Digital Video Production and Monetization specialisation introduce students to MoJo (Mobile Journalism). It is designed to teach you to make impactful video content for media houses, marketing campaigns and social media channels. Students will learn how to shoot, edit and produce video content with Mobile Phones. They will learn hands-on working on live projects in workshop mode to create digital multimedia content. They will be introduced to narrative structure and visual language basics, and a comprehensive overview of video production. They will also be introduced to distribution and monetisation strategies across digital platforms like YouTube, Facebook & Instagram, amongst others.

Academic Framework

Since its inception, the foundation of higher learning at UPES has been to explore and promote areas of learning that are innovative and future-focused. This has led to constant evolution in facilitating creative and collaborative learning engagements for students through realignment of curriculum and exploration of virtual tools and open-source courseware, thereby creating borderless learning and access to limitless information.

The new curriculum framework at UPES, ABLE (Academic Blueprint for Learning Excellence), is holistic in its overall structure and yet focuses on the individual need of the student to discover, experience, explore and challenge. The learning is segmented into core subject studies, core specialism studies, minors/exploratory subjects, and signature and life skills learning. The newly-instituted School for Life offers the latter three.

SFL (School for Life) is an intrinsic part of the composite UPES student experience. It facilitates learning and education that balance what students want and what is needed of them as future global citizens and leaders of tomorrow.
