 National Institute of Technology Sikkim was established in 2010 and the Civil Engineering Department is part of the institute since 2013. Currently the department is offering four year B.Tech. program. The department is planning to start a PhD program soon. The Civil Engineering department is actively engaged in research areas that deal with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.
