Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Srinagar. It was one of the first departments of the erstwhile Regional Engineering College (REC) Srinagar. It was established in the year 1960 and is among the oldest departments in the institute. The department runs one undergraduate programme leading to a bachelor's of technology (B. Tech) degree in electrical engineering, one post-graduate programme leading to a master's of technology (M. Tech) degree in electrical power and energy systems. The department also runs a PhD programme with specialisations in power systems, power electronics and control & automation.
