The Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) is a nodal center for applying science and engineering principles to further fundamental knowledge and applications in biology and biomedical engineering. The BSBE department aims to create an ambience for the smooth pursuit of scholarly activities in research and education, to make an international impact, and to produce future leaders in the field of Biosciences and Bioengineering.

The BSBE department is comprised of faculty with a variety of backgrounds in basic sciences, applied sciences and engineering pursuing diverse teaching and research interests in biological sciences and biomedical engineering. The core of the department consists of twenty-seven faculty members. The academic program currently consists of the M.Sc. Biotechnology (supported by the Dept. of Biotechnology, Govt. of India), M.Tech Biomedical Engineering, integrated M.Sc. – Ph.D. and Ph.
