The College was established in 1962 with the founding of the Angeles Institute of Technology and was known as the College of Commerce with an initial enrollment of  33 students. In July 1963, it was granted government recognition to offer the first and second year programs leading to the degree, Bachelor of Science in Commerce. In 1969, the College was authorized to offer the degree, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting; Banking and Finance; Economics; Management and Marketing. This resulted to the renaming of the unit to College of Commerce and School for Secretaries with the integration of the Secretarial Program in 1980.

In 1984, the unit was renamed to College of Business and Economics with the integration of the Computer Center. In 1989, the School for Secretaries and Computer Center were separated from the unit and was then renamed to College of Business Administration.
