The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all-India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 17 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their Under-Graduate (LLB) and Post-Graduate(LLM) degree programs.To get admissions into law colleges and universities in India, the marks of law entrance exams such as CLAT, LSAT, and SLAT are usually considered. Some universities also conduct college-level entrance tests, but in most cases, the universities that conduct their tests exempt those students from entrance tests who have a valid score in any CLAT, LSAT, or SLAT examinations.

1.The candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution.
2.Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in March/April 2022 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2022. Such candidates will be required to produce proof of their educational qualification at the CLAT counseling and admission process, failing which, their admission will be cancelled.
Minimum marks in required in qualifying exam
1.The candidate must have secured at least 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination (10+2) or an equivalent grade.
2.SC and ST category candidates must secure at least 40% marks or equivalent grades in their qualifying examination.

CNLU was established under the Chanakya National Law University Act, 2006 (Bihar Act No. 24 of 2006) and included in sections 2(f) &12(B) of the U.G.C. Act, 1956.
