If you are someone who is aspiring to make their career in the film industry then there are certain basics one should always be aware of. One should remember that the job prospects are high but don’t come easily and one has to stick to fighting for it. A degree or a certificate will not be for getting the job but one must have some working experience on field as well. Education and Eligibility
As we mentioned, a degree or certificate is to learn the basic theory of the whole working procedure. At least a graduation degree is must for jobs higher than a basic technical work. The nature of jobs in this industry is very different from that of the other sectors. One can opt for film studios, production houses, advertising firms, and other departments in governments. The different types of jobs one can opt for are:
Film direction is one of the most creative jobs and to direct a film properly is to present a piece of creative and informative matter to the audience. Apart from the main director there is an Assistant Director or First Assistant Director, Location Manager, Art Director, Set Designer, Cinematographer or Director of Photography.
In terms of production, there is the main Producer then there is an Associate Producer, Production Manager, Production Assistant, Postproduction Supervisor and a Line Producer. Apart from these there is a camera operator, a dolly grip, key grip, gaffer, best boy, production sound mixer, boom operator, foley artist, an editor, etc.
The editor’s job is in terms of post production since they are responsible for cutting, editing and fixing all the errors that are in a film. They handle the post production department and set the complete film in order.
Salary Packages
The earning range of people working in this industry depends on the level and experience they are working with. However, the packages are hefty enough when compared otherwise.
