Everything you need to know the exam pattern of SSC MTS 2019

The SSC MTS exam stands for Staff Selection Commission- Multi-tasking Staff. These staffs are recruited for numerous government offices and departments. This examination is conducted in two phases and they are as follows:

  • Paper 1 (CBT): In 2019, the Paper 1 for SSC MTS has been scheduled to occur between 2nd August and 8th September, 2019
  • Paper 2 (PBT): The Paper 2 of SSC MTS 2019 shall occur on 17th November, 2019.

The Paper 1 of SSC MTS 2019 would consist of multiple objective type questions, while the 2nd Paper would contain descriptive questions. The papers would be divided into 4 segments as follows:

  • Intelligence Reasoning
  • Numerical Aptitude
  • General Knowledge
  • English

Some general information regarding the examinations

The entire examination will be conducted in two languages i.e. in Hindi and English.

It’s worth noting that there would be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer you provide. Hence, it is important for you to be careful while filling up your answers.

For healthy candidates, the 1st Paper shall last for 2 hours. In contrast, special assurance has been offered to cerebral palsy and visually handicapped candidates. For them, the duration of the examination would be 2 hours and 40 minutes.

As mentioned before, the 2nd paper shall host all the descriptive questions, which would last for 30 minutes. Again for visually impaired and cerebral palsy candidates, the duration shall be 45 minutes.

For Paper 1, each section mentioned below would carry specific amounts of points. We have listed the number of questions you must expect along with the total marks they offer. Each of the questions across all of these sections would carry one mark each since they all are objective type of questions.

Total: 150 Questions = 150 Marks

Intelligence Reasoning:                25 Questions = 25 Marks

Numerical Aptitude: 25 Questions = 25 Marks

English:                50 Questions = 50 Marks

General Knowledge: 50 Questions = 50 Marks

 

Paper 2 would consist of descriptive questions

The 2nd paper of SSC MTS consists of only one question. This might ask you to write a short essay or letter in either English or any of the languages included in the Indian Constitution’s 8th Schedule.

Questions shall be set for testing the candidate’s awareness about the current affairs. It’s important to be aware of our country’s current social and economic policies. It would also help to know about the country’s relations and agreements with our neighboring countries. Staying aware about the following topics shall also be helpful:
