Sea Engineering and Marine Technology is a career in India:
Career on the Sea As we all know, there are numerous areas of Engineering open to students in India. Marine Engineering is a very well-known engineering field that is highly technologically advanced and requires love for rivers, sea, water, and the latest technology. India has a huge coastline of 7516.6 km, of which the mainland coastline comprises 6100 km, while the islands are comprised of 1197 kilometres. The coastline of India includes nine states and four union territories, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal. In terms of distance, the distance from Kanyakumari and Srinagar is 3714 km via road. The land boundary for India is around 15,200 km. The coastline of India comprises approximately half of the land border of India. So this huge coastline indicates that maritime commerce has an enormous opportunity in India. The extensive coastline lets India access the majority of areas in the World. The Arabian Sea gives access to Gulf countries, as well as the Andaman Sea provides an access point to Malacca Strait and then to the South China sea. India has the biggest fishing industry worldwide. Offline extraction of oil and mineral resources in India's further advantage India. The common thread in everything mentioned above is sea transportation in all its types. It includes constructing and operating mechanical machinery of ships, docks, and harbour facilities and designing and constructing structures or vehicles used around or on water, including yachts, ships and freighters, rigs, and numerous others. Merchant Navy work thrives on the coasts of these lines. Therefore, Marine Engineers have a vast responsibility in the maintenance and utilization of the coastline ecosystem in all its aspects. It is an engineering field that focuses on the design, building, testing, and operation of mechanical devices such as boats, ships, oil vessels, underwater vessels, offshore platforms, submarines, navy vessels, and aircraft. To become an engineer in the marine sector, you must earn a bachelor's in technology (BTech) at a school approved by the Directorate General of Shipping of the Government of India.
* The minimum education requirement to get a BTech diploma in marine engineering or nautical science is 10 plus 2 or equivalent. The subjects required include science courses like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics together with English, and the minimum marks achieved are 50-60 percent, based on the universities you attend. The courses are of four years in duration. To earn MTech or Ph.D. degrees in maritime Engineering, Candidates must have graduated with a BE/BTech in Mechanical/Marine Engineering from a recognized institution and must have achieved an aggregate score of between 50% and 60% during their bachelor's studies. There are other requirements to be considered when selecting applicants. This is because the job demands in shipping require one to be physically healthy and in good health. The physical requirements are set through Mer change Shipping Medical Examination Rules.

However, candidates must not be married at the start of their studies. They must have an Indian citizen; however, some international students might be granted special permission by the Ministry of Shipping. The admission process into Marine Engineering Colleges in India, The Indian Ministry of Shipping has an inventory of more than the 143 marine schools approved within the country.
