Integrated (B.Des) (M.Des) for Fashion Design exposes students to a blend of traditional crafts techniques and digital technology to transform ideas from the two-dimensional fabric into 3D shapes. The course includes every aspect of design, starting with trends analysis, research and development of design, drawing and illustration, colour and development of fabrics, historical and cultural study, and the transfer of concepts of 2D to 3D to presentation, marketing, and business development.

Academic Framework

Since its beginning, the foundation of higher education in UPES has been to investigate and encourage learning areas that are innovative and forward-looking. This has led to continuous advancement in the facilitation of creative and collaborative learning opportunities for students through the re-alignment of course curriculum and the exploration of online tools and open-source courseware, thereby enabling the possibility of unlimited learning and access to a wealth of information.

The new curriculum framework of UPES, ABLE (Academic Blueprint for Learning Excellence), is comprehensive in its overall design and yet is focused on the unique needs of each student to learn experiences, discover, investigate and test. The learning is broken down into core subjects and core specialisms minors/exploratory subject areas, life skills and signature learning. The recently established School provides these three courses for life.

SFL (School for Living) is an integral part of the overall UPES student experience. It is a way to facilitate learning and education that strikes an ideal blend of the needs of students and what they need from their future as leaders and global citizens of the future. Through courses designed to provide students with the ability to learn for life, emphasising a broad range of current issues and an obligatory professional and social internship that is truly unique, UPES believes in igniting the best version of oneself to improve the world.

Eligibility Criteria

• Students should must have minimum marks of 50% at Senior and Higher Secondary level (X and XII for any stream)

Entry Test

Exam Pathway:

UPES Design Aptitude Test (UPES-DAT), followed by a personal interview and presentation of the portfolio of work.

• The date of the interview, as well as portfolio presentations, will be announced after the UPES-DAT results.

Non-Examination Pathway:

• Based on an official Board Merit, NIFT, NID and UCEED rankings, applicants will be invited for a personal interview, followed by a portfolio of work.
• The interview and the Portfolio presentation date will be announced following the UPES-DAT results.
