Genomics is a field of genetics that focuses on studying the genomes of living organisms. It aids students in understanding genomes and the mathematical and statistical techniques to analyze biomolecular information.

This course provides students with an integrated view of genomics and its applications in healthcare. This field involves much effort to discover the complete genome sequence of living organisms as well as precise genetic mapping on a grand scale. Additionally, it studies intra-genomic phenomena like epistasis, heterosis, pleiotropy, and other interactions between alleles and loci inside the genome. Using high-performance computing and math methods, a researcher in genomics is expected to analyze huge amounts of sequencing information to identify changes that affect health, disease, or response.

The goal of the course is to create "genomics-ready" health professionals. The course also provides access to additional related areas and higher-level courses like precision medicine, Genetic manipulation breeding and genetics, genomic analysis, clinical bioinformatics, clinical and medical genomics, and more.

The learning is broken down into core subjects and core specialisms, minors/exploratory subject areas, life-skills, and signature subjects. The recently established School provides these three courses for Life.

SFL (School for the Future) is an integral part of the complete UPES student experience. It aids in learning and education, which is balanced between what students desire and what is expected of their future leaders and global citizens. Through courses designed to provide students with the ability to learn for Life with a particular concentration on a variety of current issues and an obligatory professional and social internship that is distinctive, UPES believes in igniting to awaken the beast inside each person to make a difference in the world.
