The duration of the program

Min. 3 years and Max. 6 years

 

Entry Test

Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility requirements will be required to participate in a RET (Research Admission Test) and then be interviewed on the UPES Campus, Dehradun. The RET is not mandatory for NET/GATE Qualified/Scientists Researchers.

Entry Test Date: 5th January 2022. The last date to apply is 31st December 2021.

 

Eligibility

Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program must possess attained a Master's degree or professional qualification that is comparable to the Master's degree by the relevant regulatory body that is a statutory body, and with a minimum of 55% marks in the total or equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7-point scale (or equivalent grade in an equivalent scale in any point scale where the grading system has been followed) or an equivalent degree earned from an institution of higher education in another country that is recognized with An Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is recognized, approved, or granted by an authority created or incorporated under an act of law in the country of its origin or other statutory authority within the country in the interest in evaluating, accreditation, or ensuring the high standards and quality for educational establishments. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per extant UGC Regulations from time to time; or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
