The (MARB) Medical Assessment and Rating Board of the (NMC) National Medical Commission has recently approved 5 pg medical seats in the emergency medicine department of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore.
Bringing good news to the postgraduate medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh, these new Postgraduate Emergency Medicine seats will be open for admission for the academic session 2023-2024.

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore, has become the first government-run medical institute in the State to get the NMC nod for commencing the Emergency Medicine program. Already, the NMC board has given the letter of intent to the Dean of (MGM) Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College.
In 2020, NMC (National Medical Commission) specified that all medical institutes offering MBBS programs would have an Emergency Medicine Department.
Noting the importance of emergency medicine, the apex medical regulator, the (NMC) National Medical Commission, has now clearly specified that all medical colleges offering MBBS courses must have a Department of Emergency Medicine.

The Dean of MGMMC, Dr. Sanjay Dixit, told the daily that NMC had issued permission according to the report submitted by the assessor, who inspected the institute a few days ago.
Now, assigning the Letter of Intent, the apex medical education regulatory body National Medical Commission has asked the institute to submit the needed documents, including the details of the staff, faculty members, equipment, and other details.
Dr. Dixit mentioned that the institute would submit the documents at the earliest for getting the letter of permission from NMC. “We have already completed recruitment and other needs for the same. We have become the first government medical institutions in the State to get permission for the same,” he added.
