FNB Hand and Microsurgery emphasize traumatic training in obtained states of the hand, wrist, forearm, arm, elbow and shoulder, including peripheral nerve disorders, an operation internship in collaboration with Plastic Surgery, brachial plexus arthroscopy of the hand, and wrist, joint replacing of the hand, wrist, and congenital hand surgery.

The course is a full-time program followed at accredited colleges/hospitals across the country; the top colleges offering fellowship include Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, and more.

Students can get admission to 2 years FNB course after successfully qualifying for the Fellowship Entrance Test (FET)

the exam that NBEMS conducts. FET is held annually as per the prescribed schedule. NBEMS administers merit-based counselling for admissions to the FNB Programme after holding FET.

 

The fee for following FNB Hand & Micro Surgery varies from accredited college/hospital to hospital and is around Rs.1,25,000 per year.

After completing their respective program, doctors can join the job market. Candidates can take decent jobs as research fellows, Consultants, Senior residents etc., with an approximate salary scope of Rs. 12 lakhs to Rs.20 lakhs per year which differs according to experience.

Admission Procedure

  • FET is a qualifying-cum-ranking exam for admission to (FNB) Fellow of National Board/Fellow of National Board - Post Doctoral (FNB-PD) programs.
  • The selection of a candidate will be through an MCQ-based examination, namely Fellowship Entrance Test.
  • A candidate can apply for the fellowship programs for which his/her broad or super speciality qualification/ equal qualification is eligible at the time of online submission of the application form.
  • The total time of the exams will be 105 minutes (Part A - 45 and Part B - 60 minutes).
  • Qualifying Criteria: Candidates who obtain a minimum of 50th Percentile in their respective question paper/speciality shall be declared “Qualified”.
  • NBEMS shall declare a speciality-wise merit list, i.e., a separate merit list for each fellowship program. There shall not be any equating/ascending and normalization. The merit shall be generated based on marks acquired by the candidate and the application of the prescribed tie-breaking criteria.
  • The admission to Fellowship programs in the accredited hospitals shall be launched solely based on merit-based counselling conducted by NBEMS.
  • Documents required to be produced during counselling: MBBS Degree Certificate and MD/DNB/MS/DM/MCh/DrNB Degree Certificate/Provisional Pass Certificate of Qualified PG Medical Qualification issued.
