Introduction

MEd, also known as Master of Education, is an advanced degree program that focuses on researching new teaching methods and educational research. The program focuses on various aspects of education like teaching, curriculum, counseling, leadership, and technological education.

MEd, also known as Master of Education, is an advanced degree program that focuses on researching new teaching methods and educational research. The program focuses on various aspects of education like teaching, curriculum, counseling, leadership, and technological education. The regulatory body responsible for the MEd program is called the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE).MEd is a two-year duration and is divided into four terms. Some universities and colleges also offer a one-year duration MEd program. The course is offered in various subjects and specializations. Candidates can pursue MEd in distance education and regular mode. After completing the MEd program, applicants can choose to work solely as teachers but as counselors, administrators as headmasters, counselors, etc.

 

Eligibility 

In order to be eligible for M.Ed, you must satisfy the following eligibility requirements:

  • General candidates must earn at least 50% - 60% marks for graduation programs from a recognized institution.
  • SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled candidates get 5% relaxation in qualifying percentage in graduation.
  • Candidates must have completed a B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) during their graduation from a UGC accredited university.
  • Candidates who have obtained their B.El.Ed degree at a Govt University with 55% marks are also eligible for the M.Ed course.
  • Aspirants who want to pursue B.A.Ed (Bachelor of Arts in Education)or B.ScEd (Bachelor of Science in Education)or M.Sc.Ed (Master of Science in Education) may also be eligible for M.Ed following the institute policies that they apply to.

 

M.Ed Entrance Exams

M.Ed Admissions to the program are granted through entrance Exams. Some of the entrance examinations to be taken for admission into M.Ed are listed below:

  • DUET: Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) exam is an online admission test administered by NTA (National Testing Agency), which offers UG, PG, and doctoral courses.
  • BHU PET: Banaras Hindu University Post Graduate Entrance Test (BHU PET) is an entrance exam administered through Banaras Hindu University. The exam is conducted online in over 200 cities in India.
  • JUET (Jammu University Entrance Test): JUET 2022 is an entrance exam to gain admission to Post Graduate Degree (PG), PG Diploma, and Undergraduate programs provided through Jammu University Jammu that is conducted every year.
  • AMU Exam (Aligarh Muslims University Test): AMU M.Ed Admission is conducted in two different ways depending on the course, i.e., Departmental Admission Test (conducted in Aligarh) in addition to Entrance Exam (conducted by the designated centers).
  • Lucknow University M.Ed Admission Test: Admission to M.Ed course at Lucknow University is made based on a written exam followed by an interview. Candidates who wish to apply for admission may do so via the official site.
  • Patna University M.Ed Entrance Test (MEET): Patna University has a separate department for postgraduate teaching and a research institute. Candidates interested in appearing in MEET, the M.Ed admission exam(MEET) need to have at least 50% marks overall in B.Ed. B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. B.El.Ed as well as D.El.Ed./D.Ed.

 

M.Ed admission 2022 

Below are a few steps that outline the admissions process to this M.Ed course:

Candidates must read the eligibility requirements prior to applying for the course in the order in order to avoid being rejected.

  • Step 1: go to the institute's official website or visit the admission office at the institute. Take the admission form and download it on the internet. Candidates will get login information via the registered mobile number and an email ID.
  • Step 2:The second step is filling out the application form and uploading/attaching the documents required as per the guidelines and specifications are given.
  • Step 3:Prior to sending the application, applicants must review if modifications need to be made.
  • Step 4:The final step is to pay the payment.

After submitting applications, applicants will be selected by the merit list that has been released or based on admission exam scores.

In an entrance exam, the agency will issue the names of the candidates who have passed the examination. The candidates who pass the exam are invited to the next round of counseling.

Whether through selection by merit lists or an entrance exam, the chosen applicants are permitted to fill their seats after paying the admission charges.
