MCA is a two-year degree program designed to give students the essential knowledge needed regarding computer science, specifically the practical applications of the theoretical concepts learned. The MCA program's goals are following the department's mission that allows students to be prepared to work in computer applications by giving them technical knowledge in the field of computer-related applications. The program also helps students develop to think critically about computing and the development of software to meet the market demands. The course provides experience with cutting-edge technologies and training for working on multidisciplinary projects as teams. In order to help students continue their learning through professional experiences and adapt quickly to changing technologies while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
There are two streams of Specializations within MCA
MCA (Full the Stack and Cloud Computing)
MCA (Data Analysis as well as Data Science)
According to The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the employment rate for IT and computer-related occupations has expected to grow by 11 percent from 2019 until 2029, which is much more than typical for all professions. The projected growth for these occupations is to increase employment by 531,200.
A master's degree in computer-related fields can result in jobs in many different industries like Healthcare, Education, Telecommunications, and business.
Software Developer
System Analyst
Data Scientist
Web Design and Development, Web Designer
Cloud Architect
The main goals that are part of the MCA Program are to provide students with the skills needed for MCA Program are to equip students with the ability to:
Apply knowledge of computing fundamentals, computing specialization, mathematics, and domain knowledge appropriate for the computing specialization to the abstraction and conceptualization of computing models from defined problems and requirements.
Identify, formulate, research literature, and solve complex computing problems reaching substantiated conclusions using fundamental mathematics, computing sciences, and relevant domain disciplines.
Design and evaluate solutions for complex computing problems. Design and evaluate systems, components, or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for cultural, societal, and environmental considerations for public health and safety.
Use research-based knowledge and research methods, including experiments design, analysis, data interpretation, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
Create, select, adapt and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern computing tools to complex computing activities, understanding the limitations.
Recognize the need, and have the ability to engage in independent learning for continual development as a computing professional.
Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams and multidisciplinary environments.
To impart technical knowledge through innovative teaching, research, and consultancy.
DSU provides state-of-the-art facilities and internationally recognized faculty.
To adapt to the dynamic needs of industries through curriculum updates.
DSU Promotes partnerships with industry and community.
To produce competent graduates with professional ethics and life skills.
Admission to the First Year MCA will be available to applicants with a BCA/B. Sc. (CS/IT) (CS/IT) or B.Sc./B.Com/BA at a recognized institution with Mathematics at the 10+2 level of graduation Level(with the option of additional bridge courses following the rules of the university).
Attained at least 50 marks in the Qualifying Examination
Students complete mini-projects throughout the semesters to increase their understanding of the fundamentals by applying theoretical ideas. The mini-projects are part of the curriculum to facilitate the overall growth of students and prepare the future of students.
By incorporating Summer Internships for students, they get experience in a professional working environment. Students have an opportunity to take up the Internship Program in reputed industry/academic institute/R&D/Government organizations.
