The UPES School for Design's Undergraduate Program, B.Des. Graphic & Communication Design prepares students for typography, image design branding, layout design, research methods, design history web-based designs, design photography, and graphic technology. With an increasing focus on sustainable design technology, the curriculum teaches design and sustainable principles and understands the fundamental values, new trends, and the challenges facing discipline.

Academic Framework

Since its beginning, the core of higher education within UPES has been to research and encourage learning areas that are innovative and futuristic. This has led to continuous advancement in the facilitation of creative and collaborative learning opportunities for students through the re-alignment of courses and exploring online tools and open-source courseware, thereby enabling an environment of learning that is apprehensive and accessible to complete information.

The new curriculum framework of UPES, ABLE (Academic Blueprint for Learning Excellence), is complete in its structure. However, it is focused on the unique needs of each student to learn experiences, discover, investigate, and be challenged. Learning is divided into core subject areas and core specialisms, minors/exploratory subject areas, life skills, and signature learning. The recently established School provides these three courses for Life.

SFL (School for the Future) is an integral part of the complete UPES student experience. It facilitates learning and education that has balanced between what students desire. It promotes learning and education that strikes a balance between what students desire and what they need from their future leaders and global citizens, with programs designed to equip candidates with the ability to learn for Life with a particular emphasis. On a broad range of current issues and an obligatory professional and social internship that is truly unique.UPES believes in igniting the most potent version of oneself to make a difference in the world.

Entrance Test

Exam Pathway:

UPES Design Aptitude Test (UPES-DAT) and then an interview with the candidate and a portfolio presentation.

Non-Examination Pathway:

• Based on current Board Merit, NIFT, NID, and UCEED rankings, applicants will be invited for a personal interview and a presentation on the portfolio of work.
• The interview and presentation of the portfolio will be announced following the UPES-DAT outcome.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Students should be able to score at least 50% marks in the Senior and Higher Secondary Grade (X and XII in any stream)
