IES Officer: Positions and Salary

Depending upon the engineering branch you choose on qualification, you shall need to perform a different set of tasks. The duties of an IES officer also depend on the service they are recruited in. The entry point position offered to candidates is that of an Assistant Executive Engineer. The top most position of the hierarchy is the designation of a Managing Director or the Chairman.

The basic payment that an IES officer receives depends on the field of work and the range starts from INR 15,600 as well as a Grade Pay amounting to INR 5,400. Apart from the fixed salary amount, an IES officer is entitles to additional incentives such as DA, HRA etc. With increase in tenure and experience, an IES officer is expected to receive INR 50,000 per year after a few years.

IES 2019 Important Dates

The preliminary exam for IES 2019 has already been conducted on 6^th January this year. The IES Mains Exam is scheduled to be held on 1^st July, 2019. The personal interview for the qualified candidates shall be held from the first week of November this year.
