The Integrated (B.Des) (M.Des) in Product Design emphasizes an approach centred around collaboration and participation to guide the education of students. The curriculum is structured to grow in complexity gradually and covers broad areas designers of products will have to deal with during their professional careers. Collaboration with industrial houses or the social sector, governments and multinational corporations are components of the educational process.

Academic Framework

Since its beginning, higher education in UPES has been researching and encouraging learning areas that are both innovative and futuristic. This has resulted in constant advancement in facilitating creative and collaborative learning opportunities for students by reorienting the course curriculum and exploring virtual tools and open-source courseware, thereby enabling an environment of learning that is apprehensive and accessible to a wealth of information.

The new curriculum framework of UPES, ABLE (Academic Blueprint for Learning Excellence), is comprehensive within its structure. Nevertheless, it focuses on the unique requirement of each student to learn, experience, discover and challenge. Learning is divided into core subjects and core specialisms minors/exploratory subjects, life skills and signature learning. The recently established School for Life offers the last three.

SFL (School for the Future) is an integral component of the complete UPES student experience. It facilitates learning that balances what students desire and what they need from their future as global leaders and citizens of the future. Through courses designed to provide students with the ability to learn for life and a concentration on various current issues, and an obligatory professional and social internship that is distinctive, UPES believes in igniting to catch the best version of oneself to improve the world.

 

Qualification Criteria for Eligibility:

  • Minimum marks of 50% at Senior and Higher Secondary Grade (X and XII in any stream)

Exam Pathway:

UPES Design Aptitude Test (UPES-DAT) followed by a personal interview and presentation of the portfolio of work.

  • The date of the interview, as well as portfolio presentations, will be made public following the UPES-DAT report.

Non-Examination Pathway:

  • Based on the official Board Merit, NIFT, NID and UCEED rankings, applicants are invited to attend a personal interview and a presentation on the portfolio of work.
