The growth of Technical Education in Bihar state has been very slow. Due to efforts and initiatives taken during successive 5-year plans and particularly due to policy changes in the eighties to allow participation of private and voluntary organizations in the setting up Technical Institution on self-financing basis, the growth of Technical Education has been phenomenal.
It was in this context, due to inadequacy in the number of engineering colleges thus far produced, and in order to meet the heavy demands of the various public and private sector industries. Al Zafar Memorial Education Trust took initiative to establish “AZMET College of Engineering & Technology†in Kishanganj (Bihar), with a view to ensure the proper planning and coordinated development of Technical Education.
