Saroj Mohan Institute of Technology (SMIT), Hooghly was started in 2003. It is one of the 16 engineering colleges under Techno India Group, the largest educational organization in Eastern India. It seeks to provide quality technical education with hands-on experience in live projects, workshops, seminars etc. It is built in an area of more than 10 acres of land. It is located at Gutipara, 35 km away from the city of Bandel, West Bengal. It is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi It is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).
