As the Education is spreading at fast rate in J&K state and there is demand of trained graduates to cater to the needs of the educational institutions, Sant Manjit Singh Ji with his vision and Zeal to serve humanity felt necessity of opening College of Education as a gesture of goodwill to help the Education system in the State. He proposed to the memory of the bicentenary celebrations of the establishment of Dera and named after Sant Mela Singh Ji who established this Dera (Abode of ants) at Poonch in year 1803 A.D.
