Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, popularly known as Sastra University was the first institution to get the 'Deemed University’ status in Tamil Nadu. It offers various UG, PG and Ph.D. programs in multiple streams such as Engineering, Science, Education, Management, Law and Arts. Application form for all the courses offered by Sastra University can be filled online or offline. To provide equal admission opportunities to the students from different states and districts, the university has reserved 30% of the total available seats for those who have completed their qualifying examination from outside of Tamil Nadu. In addition, the university also has SC/ST/ OBC quota as per the directives of Government of Tamil Nadu.
