Indira Gandhi Mahila Mahavidyalaya,Kaithal, came into existence when there was a dire need of an institute for women’s higher education in Kaithal.Due to the conservative attitude and traditional biasness, people of our area were reluctant to send their girls to a co-educational institute for higher education. Reckoning the need of the hour,A Great Educationist and Social Reformer Smt. Om Parabha Jain,the then Finance Minister, Haryana,undertook the challenge of establishing a women’s college.In this Herculean task she was supported by the members of Bal Shiksha Samiti and her comrades Mahasha Brij Lal, Sh.
