About Contai College Of Learning & Management Science (CCLMS)
Contai (also known as) is the headquarters of Contai sub-division. According to the historians East India Company of British India announced Contai as a Sub-Division that covered 912 square miles (2,400 km2) was the second largest in Bengal. Bankim Chandra Chottopadhyay, the Father of Bengali novel, worked as the Deputy Magistrate of Contai, though for a short period, from January 1860 to November of the same year. Contai Subdividion is famous for its tourism, cashew crop, fishing and processing industries. Contai is also famous for Cashew Nut Industry and Salt Industry.
Contai is well-connected by roads / highways with other nearby cities and towns like Digha, Kharagpur, Tamluk, Haldia, Howrah and Kolkata. The town is also connected by a rail link to Howrah which is again extended to Digha. The town is also enriched with the memory of great freedom fighters like Despran Birendra Sasmal, Sudhir Chandra Das and Balai Lal Das Mahapatra.
