JEE Main 2024: Admit Card, Exam Dates (OUT),  Exam Pattern

The National Testing Agency released the JEE Main City Allotment 2024 for BTech on January 17. Candidates must use the NTA JEE Mains 2024 Login on the official website to check their exam city intimation slip. JEE Main 2024 exam city Intimation Slip has information about the city allotted to candidates for appearing in the exam. JEE Main City Allotment 2024 for BArch and BPlan aspirants was released on January 12.

NTA will release the JEE Mains Admit Card 2024 session 1 on January 20, 2024, for all registered candidates to appear in the exam. The JEE 2024 admit card download link will be available at the NTA website on the JEE Main admit card session 1 2024 release date.

As per JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be conducted on 27, 29, 30, and 31st January and February 1, 2024. JEE Main 2024 Paper 2A and 2B will be conducted on January 24 (shift 2).

NTA has reduced the JEE 2024 Syllabus by removing several topics. The link to download the new JEE Mains 2024 Syllabus PDF is available below on this page. In the reduced syllabus of JEE Main 2024, several topics have been removed, covered in classes 11 and 12.

The second session of JEE Main 2024 exam will be conducted in April. NTA JEE Main 2024 exam session 2 is April 1 to 15, 2024. JEE Main Application Form 2024 Session 2 will be released on February 2. JEE Main 2024 Registration last date for Session 2 is March 2.

The NTA has introduced the following two major changes in JEE Main 2024 exam

  • The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the JEE Mains 2024 Syllabus. As per the revised syllabus, topics for several classes, 11 and 12, have been removed from the JEE Main syllabus for the exam. Candidates can check the JEE Main new syllabus 2024 from the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in or from this page.
  • In the JEE Main registration process, NTA has introduced the option to select a preferred registration mode. Candidates can register using the Aadhar Enrollment Numbers, PAN, Passport numbers, or ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credit ID).

What is the JEE Main Exam?

The Joint Entrance Examination (Main), popularly called JEE Main, is the exam conducted for admission to BTech, BArch and BPlan courses at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. The JEE Main exam is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, conducted for admission to IITs.

JEE Main exam consists of three papers: Paper 1 for admission to the BE/BTech course, Paper 2A for BArch admission, and Paper 2B for BPlan course admission. National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the JEE Main exam as a Computer Based Test in various cities in India and abroad. NTA official website, JEE 2024, is jeemain.nta.ac.in.

Candidates preparing for the JEE Mains 2024 can check here the exam syllabus, the pattern of the exam, and the marking scheme and download the previous year's JEE Mains question paper PDF. Per the JEE Mains exam pattern, the exam will be conducted online as a Computer Test. The previous year's JEE Main question paper will help candidates understand the difficulty level of the exam. Also, it is advised that students study JEE Mains 2024 chapter-wise weightage to know the topics asked in previous years.

JEE Main 2024 will have three papers: Paper 1 for admission to the BE/BTech course, Paper 2A for BArch admission, and Paper 2B for BPlan course admission. The JEE Main exam lasts three hours, and the paper will have multiple choice (MCQ) and integer value (Numerical value answer) questions. JEE Main 2024 Paper 1 will have 90 questions, while Paper 2A and 2B will have 82 and 105 questions, respectively.

Candidates must have passed class 12 in 2022/2023 or appearing in 2024 from any recognized board. Candidates having passed any exam equivalent to class 12 are also eligible to apply

Number of attempts

Candidates can appear in the exam for three consecutive years from the year of passing class 12

Compulsory subjects in qualifying exam

For BTech- Physics, Mathematics, and any one subject among Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject

For BArch- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics

For BPlan- Mathematics

Minimum percentage in class 12

No minimum percentage is required to appear in the exam

75% marks required after qualifying JEE Mains for admission in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs

State code of eligibility

State code of eligibility means the code of the State from where the candidate has passed the class 12 (or equivalent) qualifying examination by which the candidate becomes eligible to appear in JEE Main 2024.
State code of eligibility does NOT depend upon the native place or the place of residence of the candidate. Candidates who passed/appeared for Class 12 from NIOS should select the State of Eligibility according to the State in which the study Centre is located.

JEE Main City Allotment 2024

JEE Main City intimation slip 2024 was released on January 12. JEE Main 2024 Exam city slip, also called city intimation slip mentions, is available for download on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates can download their city intimation slip JEE 2024 from jeemain.nta.ac.in 2024 login using their application number and date of birth/password. 

JEE Main exam city slip 2024 will have details about the city in which the exam center of the candidate is located. The JEE Mains city intimation slip will also have the candidates' JEE Main 2024 exam date details. Candidates must note that the exam city slip differs from the admit card. JEE Main 2024 Admit Card

National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the JEE Main admit card 2024 release date. The JEE Mains admit card 2024 session 1 will be released on January 20, 2024. JEE 2024 Admit card will be available for download online on the JEE Main website jeemain.nta.ac.in. The admit card will mention the exam date and time, exam center address, and the candidate's basic details like name, photo, signature, and exam day instructions.

It is advised that the candidates must review all the information on their admit card after downloading the NTA JEE Main admit card 2024. Candidates must contact the examination authority in case of any discrepancy in the admit card. Candidates must carry a photo ID card and the JEE Main 2024 admit card to the examination hall. Candidates need to download and take the printout of their JEE Mains 2024 admit card.
