Why Choose a BTech Course?
There are multiple reasons to choose the Bachelor of Technology program as an undergraduate degree program. Individuals interested in inventing things or curious about how instruments, machines, or software are developed can opt for the BTech degree program. Bachelor of Technology is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge of mathematics, engineering principles, computer applications, programming, and electronics.
Depending on their interest, students can opt for any specialisation such as B.Tech CSE, B.Tech textile engineering, B.Tech ME, B.Tech ECE and numerous other specialisations. A BTech degree provides ample job opportunities in the field of engineering and also equips students with practical knowledge and skills for life.
BTech Course Eligibility Criteria
The basic eligibility requirement for admission to any BTech course is as follows:
- Candidates must have passed the class 12th exam from a recognised board with (PCM) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subjects.
- They must also have secured minimum aggregate scores of 60% in the above subjects combined.
- Most admissions are done based on the student's performance in the entrance examination.
- The regular entry mode to the BTech course is through the entrance examination after Class 12. The other mode is called the Lateral-Entry mode, wherein candidates can enrol in BTech courses in the second year.
- Those with a three-year diploma course in engineering can enrol in BTech under the Lateral-Entry Scheme.
- Please note that the BTech eligibility criteria would differ from college to college.
BTech Entrance Exams 2024
In India, all technical courses, such as BTech, fall under the regulatory purview of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the (NBA) National Board of Accreditation. Admissions to BTech courses occur through national-level/state-level/institute-level engineering entrance examinations.
