4 New Medical Colleges To Come Up In Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel recently declared in this year's budget session that four new medical colleges and two new mental hospitals will be established in different districts across the state.

The proposed colleges and hospitals would provide dedicated healthcare facilities for patients and an opportunity for medical aspirants to fulfill their medical career dreams.

In a major boost to medical education, the four medical colleges will be set up at Manendragarh in North Chhattisgarh, Geedam in the southern part, Janjgir Champa and Kabirdham districts. Similarly, the 2 mental hospitals will take place in Ambikapur and Raipur.

Talking with TOI, Baghal said a provision of Rs 200 crore had been made for setting up four medical institutes. Rs 2 crore has been made for setting up 2 mental hospitals.

Apart from this, Baghal also declared that a 700-bed integrated medical facility would be set up at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital, Raipur. He declared the allocation of Rs 85 crore for this project.

Additionally, Rs 5 crore has been assigned for setting up mobile medical units in remote and inaccessible areas and a budget provision of Rs 7.50 lakh for setting up e-medical facilities at current hospitals in Ambikapur, Kanker and Korba.

Assigning Rs 5494 crore for health and family welfare, the chief minister said the budget aims for the unprecedented expansion of health and medical facilities in the state.

 

Considering the travel problems that the candidates face, a new hostel will be built in Kota, Rajasthan, for the convenience of students going to Kota to prepare for entrance exams for medical and engineering colleges.
